The Roughneck from Red Wing Heritage is born from a boot that was originally made for oil rig workers in the mid-20th century. The rig workers did notoriously dangerous work and were known by the nickname “roughnecks.” The Roughneck is built to honor the legacy of those workers and is constructed with a 6-inch height for support and protection, thick, durable leathers, and an aggressive lugged Vibram® outsole for a sure-footed grip. Finished with long-lasting Puritan triple-stitch seam construction and a Goodyear welt that makes them fully re-soleable for years of reliable wear.
