If you’re thinking of the Eiffel Tower and baguettes, think again. This East Texas town is perhaps best known for the eponymous 1984 film by Wim Wenders, starring Harry Dean Stanton, and a haunting soundtrack by Ry Cooder. But in fact, decades earlier there was a Class C team in the St. Louis Browns organization called the Red Peppers. Managed by the legendary Homer Peel, a member of the 1933 World Champion New York Giants, the team was led by catcher Frank Sacka, who socked 30 big ones to lead the league in homers.
This authentic 1946 reproduction from Ebbets Field is hand-sewn in small batches from vintage baseball flannel and detailed with the original felt Peppers logo. Secured with an adjustable genuine leather strap for a comfortable fit and made to last a lifetime.
