Japan’s second-largest city is home to one of its oldest professional baseball franchises, the Osaka Tigers. First taking to the field in 1936, their park - Koshein Field is the oldest in Japan and considered sacred ground by both fans and players alike. A statue of Babe Ruth sits outside the ballpark (which is now the Yagiyama zoo) to commemorate the Great Bambino’s 1934 visit to Osaka where he, along with Lou Gehrig, Lefty Grove, and Jimmie Foxx went on to win every contest against the All-Japan team in a friendly 18-game series.
This authentic 1940 reproduction from Ebbets Field is hand-sewn in small batches from vintage-inspired flannel wool (just like the hats of yesteryear) and detailed with the original felt Osaka Tigers logo. Secured with an adjustable genuine leather strap for a comfortable fit and made to last a lifetime.
