As soon as we started shooting pictures inside the The Dart Bowl, an older gentleman on lane one, there with his wife, started hamming it up for the camera, comically flexing his muscles, assuming the Heisman trophy pose. That pretty much encapsulates what’s going on at the Dart Bowl. It’s a piece of America that’s often overlooked, but that never went away, and isn’t going anywhere. Young and old are hanging out in there, picking up spares, high-fiving, and enjoying burgers better than any bowling alley really ought to have. A little irony-free old Austin fun hiding in plain sight.
