Sandlot Style: Your Texas Playboys
Sandlot baseball is what the Texas Playboys like to call “the slow food of sports.” Unlike its modernized, big leaguer cousin, sandlot is rooted in camaraderie & easy going good times.
In a world now too full of head-turning distractions, the Austin-based playboys & their sandlot brethren barnstorm the country playing like-minded, laid-back teams whose interests are as much focused on good food, good music, & good people as they are on back door sliders & moon shot home runs.
As we head into spring and summer & baseball takes over as the great American past time, we joined the Playboys at their home field, “The Long Time,” to see how they’d sport some of our latest spring arrivals - sandlot style.
