SEAVEES SUMMER SNEAKER SALE

Seavees sneakers are some of our favorite summer go-tos; lightweight, comfortable and they go with damn near anything. Check out our picks, all now included in our Summer Sale.

The folks at SeaVees relentlessly pursue the Golden Coast dream from a studio in Santa Barbara, California. SeaVees provides a contemporary reclamation of 1960s California style with shoes inspired by anything from the white walls of a Shelby Mustang tire, to Richard Nuerta's 1962 Maslon House in the Coachella Valley. SeaVees pioneered the transformation of the sneaker from gym shoe to casual shoe in 1964, and have continued to find the perfect balance of comfort and style ever since.

At the end of 1962, Richard Neutra completed the design of the Maslon House in Palm Springs, California. Inspired by the geographic surroundings of the Coachella Valley, the Maslon House was part of a distinctive design movement in the mid–20th century now called Desert Modernism. The Mason Desert boot pays homage to simplicity, modernity and style.

The Racquet Club in Palm Springs, California, founded in the early 20th century by two Hollywood actors was the place to be seen in the sixties and the hottest spot for the celebrity social set — so says the September 1960 issue of Palm Springs Life Magazine. Imagine Paul Newman on the courts, Rock Hudson by the pool, and Marilyn in the club's invite only “Bamboo Room.” The simplicity mid-century design and comfort come together for one ultimate shoe.

In April 1967, Carroll Shelby announced his GT 500 Mustang and for the first time in its decade and a half of production Chevrolet’s Corvette, “America’s only true sports car” was challenged for its title. The iconic white-walled tires of the Shelby Mustang inspired this mid-cut sneaker, made with sturdy calendar rubber and designed to go the distance.
